Stories of interactive print campaigns are popping up far more frequently now, but this one really stands out.

Kontor records, the worlds biggest dance music label, wanted to promote a new track to the advertising industry. The target market, agency creative directors, notoriously ignore promo CD’s. So for their mailing, Kontor used what all good Deejays use to grab their audience, real vinyl!

A vinyl record! But how could anyone play it?

Volkswagen wanted to create the first ever test drive in a print ad. Technological innovations can be difficult to explain, and must be experienced.

Therefore Volkswagen created a phone app for readers of the print ad to download, so they could try it out for themselves, using the print ad to test drive.

 

Given the limited percentage of the NZ population with smart phones, do you think this would work in NZ?
